No more fear!

No more fear!

I made a decision a long time ago that I would face my fears and refuse to let them govern how I feel, act or speak. When I look back at my life, I recall the countless moments of racism and injustice that I endured. Sometimes I wonder how I made it through all of that. Sometimes, when we are in the midst of “stuff”, it can feel so painful, so raw, so frustrating, so insurmountable. Yet, I can now look back and recognize that all those times are in the past. I made it through. Life has thrown some of its worst at me and I survived. In fact, I did more than  just survive…I found reason to live, to live happily and to try to help others be happy, too.

Fear brings out the worst in us. I cannot stand to watch the news, because I keep seeing reminders of how our fear can make us care less (or not at all) . I wonder what the future holds for us regarding how we allow fear to affect us. How will you decide to deal with your fear today?
